Alabama State University
held it 101st Founder's Day Convocation on February 9, 2001. The Speaker was
1957 ASU graduate and Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White. Tangi Miller
was presented with the Alumni Achievement Award by Acting President, Dr. Roosevelt
Steptoe. She also received an award from ASU's Theater Arts Department, presented
by Rodney Wilkerson.
Tangi signed autographs immediately following the occasion. A luncheon followed in honor of the award recipients. It was here that Montgomery City Councilman Tracy Larkin presented Tangi and Mr. White with a key to the City of Montgomery.
